New and Crescent Moon

July 8 Monday We have a new Cancer Moon invoking us to look at our internal processes, at what we hide and secure both consciously and unconsciously. Over the next four days notice tender feelings which are immediately shielded in fear of their being unacceptable to others. Some of these might represent the renegade in you. This Cancer Moon goes void of course at 5:44 am, MT, until tomorrow morning. This adds a dreamlike quality to the day and a sense of being in an altered reality. Empathy seems to be nearby but only accessible by finding a way to bridge a chasm. July 9 Tuesday The Moon is in Leo. With Mercury halfway through its retrograde cycle, repetitive thoughts about the past begin to be seasoned with some new ideas which Leo can arouse in our minds. Creativity soars, and people seem to be expressing themselves in ways that truly feel right for them. Some might think, however, that such behavior is an act of rebellion. Reactions vary. It’s possible to present a deeper core of one’s identity during this new phase of the Moon -- one which is so strongly rooted and supported by resilience. Now we may be looking for offshoots of our individuality to follow. July 10 Wednesday Wednesday begins with a Leo Moon lighting up memories of family patterns which forged emotional bonds. The depths of these links erupt in our minds. Awareness of these deep connections is full blown regardless of the kinds of feelings they evoke. There may be sensitivity to other people’s reactions, even fear of their opinions. Our instincts want to do the right thing, which could range from shielding the messiness to staging a show of familial conditions. If expectations are not met, our corresponding Leo self can get easily enraged. Leo prefers to be proud, even to the point of showing off. It can be helpful to go over and over again the emotional dramas in one’s family, especially while Mercury is retrograde in the zodiac sign of the family, Cancer. Converging perspectives begin to reveal a matrix of patterns to help us decide on what to address. Libra can represent the ups and downs in close relationships.
