First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

Monday December 9 The Pisces Moon enters her first quarter phase at 8:12 am, MT. To pursue this lunation’s theme of integrating all levels of one’s existence into an essential unity, it’s important to commit to getting one’s act together. Observing how others seem to be living with a healthy balance between security and freedom can provide behaviors to explore. Using what others model can give a feeling of what can be accomplished. The Pisces in us can easily import the physical and emotional gestures of others. It’s malleable. Late tonight the Moon goes void of course, emptying herself of impressionable Pisces all night. This sign can be a portal to the dream world. Tuesday December 10 The Moon moves into impulsive Aries at 6:05 am, MT. This sign is insatiable for new experiences, yet one might feel forced into action this morning. Many far-fetched ideas might occupy our minds as we try to solve a problem or two. Wild solutions are appealing, the more unusual the better. The Aries in us may be quick to act AND discard a behavior in a nano second if it doesn’t deliver, based on an instant evaluation. For Aries there are always a lot of options, and some can be easily discarded. The influence of close connections can help us understand the requirements for integrating physical actions with spiritual aspirations. Wednesday December 11 Today’s Aries Moon directs the “in charge” part of us to oversee efforts to magically sew all of our motives and drives together as if our lives were a single garment. We can learn much from this process, especially if we think about the essence of our attractions and then seek and explore the life spark which each holds. Our performance can synthesize and integrate the needs of our inner and outer lives. This can strengthen our internal drive to bring greater balance into our lives. The courage of Aries can fuel and motivate us not to deviate from a unifying path while making progress. Thursday December 12 The Aries Moon has a mind of her own. If you so choose to express yours today, don’t be surprised if you encounter disapproval. The Moon goes void of course at 8:37 am, MT, for five hours of snuffing out unstoppable Aries. During this time we may unconsciously run away from or simply ignore activities that lead to the integration which we’re seeking. At 1:40 pm, the Moon moves into trustworthy Taurus, and we can solidly make some progress by sharing important knowledge and the benefits of generosity. The ideal Taurus way to proceed is to follow the natural flow of things the rest of the day. Friday December 13 Early this morning the Taurus Moon entered her gibbous phase when it’s best to play along with what is developing by using a technique that comes naturally or simply that works even if it is incongruous with your nature. During this cycle what is needed now can be found in the inner well of spiritual and mythic traditions of your past. Giving constant attention to bare bone ingredients of a balanced life can satisfy deep drives to succeed at meeting standards for a clearly balanced life. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. Weekend December 14 and15 With this Taurus Moon the stability preferred can be achieved by clearing up doubts and letting things settle in a cooperative yet self-sufficient manner. The Moon goes void of course at 7:54 pm, MT, sweeping off the splendor of down-to-earth Taurus for almost four hours before moving into the artistic skills of Gemini where cultivating beauty by applying ideas can bring something into a crystallized form. On Sunday we may move along sporadically, doing more thinking than physical activity. Some ideas evoked and played with can bring a sharper focus on how we integrate the mental, social, and spiritual into our physical lives.
