First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

Monday April 7 The Cancer Moon entered her first quarter phase early this morning. It’s time to develop something new that emerged last week. The map of this cycle urges us to push ourselves to find whatever will bring its potential into being. As this morning wanes we can become more aware of our motivation to see people and/or things in a new context. Fundamental changes may be needed to meet certain expectations. At 12:14 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course until tomorrow morning. While she is washing off Cancer’s plans for growth, we might aimlessly stick with existing habits. Feelings of uncertainty can creep into our minds. It’s best to be open-hearted and postpone decision-making until tomorrow. Tuesday April 8 We awaken to an infectious Leo Moon spreading good feelings. We can embrace them and rearrange our minds to plan a day which fits our personal needs and develops our best traits. Throughout the day we can get a reading on our energy levels when it comes to how alert we are to situations which can fulfill our desires. There’s a difference between being on the look-out and simply just waiting. When we see what we want do we leap toward it or do we remain inert? Overviews of how we “go for it” come and go like images in a camera coming into focus and then blurring. Catching our process at this is more important than actually seeing the picture. How cautious do we get? Is there fear or guilt surrounding the action required? Wednesday April 9 This Leo Moon brings subdued feelings. An intuitive alert signals deep resonances of impending shifts in reality. There’s a need to change the way we look at things if we want to experience and flow with the fullness of life. Anticipating better conditions can build enthusiasm. Letting go of reservations and jumping into activities full of potential can be energizing. There’s value in keeping one’s composure when limitations appear unexpectedly. The Leo part of us represents an area in our lives where we tend to want approval from others. It’s important for us to learn self-approval about whatever we do or feel regarding the Leo in us. Late tonight the Moon begins voiding herself of expressive Leo until tomorrow afternoon. Thursday April 10 The Leo Moon is void of course until late this afternoon. Uncertainty seems to fill our minds, and our confidence feels like it’s draining out of us. There’s a mystical quality today which lights up when we focus on creative work. Excitement about what can be done is boundless. During this time gullibility and being taken advantage of are contagious. This is compounded by the Leo part of us not wanting to be left out of any fun. At 4:08 pm, MT, the Moon moves into the clarity of Virgo. Critical appraisal of the day’s activities and opportunities is available for ideal decision-making. It’s easier to pay attention to details and pick up on any dissonance with tasks or offers to perform. Friday April 11 The Virgo Moon entered her gibbous phase earlier this morning. From now until Tuesday’s full Moon, it’s best to stay focused on priorities. In this cycle we need to remove the veils in our minds that keep us from re-interpreting certain things or truths we’ve learned about ourselves. This information can be the key to a new phase of our existence. Opportunities are abundant to grasp what can raise our consciousness. We can be keenly aware of our present state of being, but an inward focus can pierce the curtains which conceal some aspect of ourselves. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. Weekend April 12 and 13 The Virgo Moon went void of course at 11:12 am, MT, until tomorrow. Some of us may be lost to everything around us while listening to the invisible airwaves of radio or while reading a good book. Those of us with obligations may be going through the paces required as if we were free-floating in a dream. Early Sunday morning the Moon moves into the reciprocity of Libra, but the otherworldly feelings of yesterday seem to continue and blur the divisions found in social responsibilities today. Our insights into others, however, and our interactions with them are sharper. Libra has high standards and expectations which can sometimes create blindness to the reality. We may need to shatter our Libra idealism to tune into a new context for relationships.
