Last Quarter and Balsamic Moon

Monday August 18 With this Gemini Moon, we can see the deep underlying core beliefs of the many layers of our cultural lives. Studying the patterns can assist in making a conscious choice about adapting to what appeals. We’re not alone if we need to push some social limits. Several colleagues can be on the same wavelength of straining to find a gateway to other realities. Ambivalence regarding some cultural belief can dissipate as discernment of being mesmerized by social status symbols comes into greater clarity. Attitudes shift as one connects inner feelings with outer reality. What is learned today indicates what one really wants to have and how one wants to participate in life socially. Tuesday August 19 Today’s Gemini Moon focuses on the opportunities to free oneself from social pressures. The Gemini part of us looks at things logically to avoid troublesome situations. There’s a desire to be as free as the air going around and through whatever is in the way. Mundane considerations, such as what cultural trophies are needed for status approval, are of little interest to Gemini. Gemini is more likely to go above and beyond the norm when it results in a high degree of liberty with no strings attached. The Moon goes void of course at 8:54 pm, MT, for six hours of shaking off the notions and perceptions of Gemini. Ideas can get muddled during this time, but there can be plenty of inspirational thoughts. Wednesday August 20 The Moon moved into highly adaptable Cancer early this morning. There’s a part of us that awakens today with magical impulses and looks for ways to express them. Imagination can take us into a make-believe world stimulating creativity. This can, however, be a day that lacks boundaries, and we can be taken advantage of easily while seeking recognition. On the other hand, it can be easy to sense the needs of companions and conjure up ways to assist while protecting oneself. Our feelings can resonate to others’ hearts regardless of the outer behavior. Curiosity leads to emotional appeals to live up to expectations. Intuitive reasoning can produce a change of mind. Thursday August 21 The Cancer Moon enters her balsamic phase at 5:17 am, MT. Between now and Monday morning is a good time to envision a fresh approach to our lives by bringing together practically everything realized in this lunation. We can brew up inner courage to undergo changes which come from new awakenings. Inklings of yet to be discovered psychological patternings bubble up into our consciousness. Seed ideas struggle to break through emotional blockages to the never-ending morphing process which humans are meant to experience. Profound thoughts about human resistance and defensiveness are available that allow us to see through social facades. The Moon voids herself of “clinging to the past” Cancer from 1:34 pm to tomorrow afternoon! Friday August 22 The Cancer Moon is void of course until this afternoon. This is an excellent time for us to let go of past behaviors which no longer serve our individual needs. At 2:49 pm, MT, the Moon moves into the creatively redeeming nature of Leo. This can reflect an easy flow in and out of a make-believe world, where longings can be expressed with deep sensitivity. At 10:46 pm, the Sun moves into modifying Virgo. Detachment and objectivity while observing surroundings provide precious insights. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. Weekend August 23 and 24 With this Leo Moon, something is coming into shape, yet not clearly definable. If engaged with others, notice whether or not you’re role-playing or consciously maneuvering around unspoken social rules. Expressing feelings can lead to experimenting with new experiences. The Moon begins to void herself of “acting out” Leo early Sunday morning until Monday morning. Hence it’s not easy to hold one’s own on Sunday. There’s strangeness yet an artistic eye can delight in shifting images. There’s an ability to shift contexts which can sudden emerge in vision sharings. Hyper-stimulation can electrify the air with excitement and anticipation. Tomorrow morning’s new Moon might bring magic!
