Crescent and First Quarter Moon

Monday December 22 This Capricorn Moon is accompanied by messengers and helpers meant to align one’s inner being with that which truly lights an enduring fire to break free and live completely as a spiritual being. Brain waves surge with possibly new foundations for a way of living. Checking these out requires taking care of unfinished business with old ties so that a new stage of social participation can begin. The Capricorn in each of us can be accommodating, but today it will take more than ordinary effort to overcome the Capricorn tendency to withdraw into its personal realm. At 8:17 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course for almost twenty-four hours of shoveling off the clearly defined territory of Capricorn. Tuesday December 23 The Capricorn Moon is void of course until this evening. While she continues to sweep off Capricorn’s need for social recognition, thoughts arise about how to attend to taking charge of one’s life regardless of the attention of others. At 9:34 am, MT, Saturn marches into Sagittarius to define the extent to which we submerge ourselves in old patterns of engagement with others. Today, we might notice how we retreat into our personal thoughts while interacting with a group of people. There can also be urges to physically escape the company of others. At 7:52 pm, the Moon moves into the gregarious world of Aquarius, and ideas arise about how to spice up some social affairs. Wednesday December 24 This Aquarius Moon is accompanied by strange vibes which seem troubling yet everything unfolds as usual, despite inclinations to avoid ordinary routines. Quick thinking leads to imposing order in a complicated, potentially chaotic, situation. Immediate action is needed today to handle many tasks almost simultaneously, including those unexpected curveballs. Multi-tasking is the order of the day. Concentrating one’s thoughts on one thing with complete focus will be easier tonight. Aquarius can handle abrupt changes as well as systematic, precise methods of dealing with the existing order of things. Thursday December 25 The Aquarius Moon entered her crescent phase early this morning. This stage comes with the stress of knowing there’s more to be done, yet it’s best to keep cool and not lose self-control no matter how unprepared one might feel about handling certain responsibilities. The Moon goes void of course at 8:11 am, MT, for almost thirteen hours of blowing off the quirkiness of Aquarius. This can give Christmas a magical feeling and a longing to be with others. There can be conflicting feelings of wanting to fit in and wanting to stand out. The Moon moves into the enchantment of Pisces at 9:07 pm, bringing a yearning for solitude. Merry Christmas! Friday December 26 With this Pisces Moon the day begins with a sense of purpose and specialness. There’s a concentration of powerful energy focused on adapting to alternative ways of handling responsibilities. Tasks can be miraculously fulfilled. Much can be accomplished and established with the support of others. The Pisces in us can take on many roles. They are, however, dependent on moods. It’s best to avoid messy or depressing situations today, and to let our inner dreamer identify with upbeat, or even serene, situations. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. Weekend December 27 and 28 The Pisces Moon went void of course this morning until late tonight. While she is washing off the impressionable softness of Pisces, we may feel like escaping the pressures of our worldly encounters by retreating into a personally created magical space. At 11:35 pm, MT, the Moon moves into assertive Aries, and on Sunday at 11:31 am, she enters her first quarter phase. It’s time to start showing in our actions that we value the past week’s impulses to take charge of a situation. This can call for perceptual shifts requiring an inventive spirit if we want to fulfill desires. Aries can be insatiable to experience its aims.
