First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

Monday January 26 The day begins with a light-hearted Aries Moon which goes void of course at 7:23 am, MT, for a little over two hours. It may be difficult to begin anything during this time and trying to do so may be foolhardy. At 9:37 am, the Moon moves into the fruitful endeavors of Taurus. This part of us might be drawn to clearing something up today. It could be clutter in an occupied space, or the energetic tension in the air from misunderstandings or unspoken, yet necessary, words. The Moon enters her first quarter phase at 9:48 pm. During the next three days there’s a need to break away from an established cultural pattern of accessing inner resources and give attention to an unfamiliar yet appealing way of drawing forth one’s wisdom. Tuesday January 27 With this Taurus Moon, there are feelings of being burdened by structures laid upon us. In spite of the odds against getting beyond these obstacles, trusting that there’s always a way in the matrix of life can be fruitful. There’s plenty of energy to push through blockages and fulfill social obligations. With determination major shifts can occur. There’s restlessness everywhere, shaking up thoughts like dice to find a new winning plan. The Moon goes void of course at 7:18 pm, MT, until tomorrow afternoon. While the Moon is sweeping off the precious attractions of Taurus, we may only have eyes for what is personally valuable. Wednesday January 28 This morning the lazy side of the void of course Taurus Moon appears. There’s a relaxed atmosphere, and very little seems appealing. Agendas for most typical weekdays can be unrealistic. Many people may be lost in their own fantasies. It’s best to be compliant with most demands and seek an awareness of self as spirit in physical space. At 3:36 pm, MT, the Moon moves into the rationality of Gemini. To gain clarity on what the subconscious mind wants to reveal, we need to gather facts about our emotional reactions to vague information. We can perceive the gifts embedded in situations where our progress is impeded. Thursday January 29 This Gemini Moon stimulates curiosity. We may venture into a social scene wholeheartedly, yet question how much we want to please those involved. It’s important to stand up for one’s thoughts and beliefs, whether or not they fit in with those of others. Being on the same intuitive wavelength of companions, however, can create an amazing psychological bond. If we can channel irritability into seeing the viewpoints of those who differ from us, we just might trip upon a common chord. The Gemini in us can be naturally sociable, working for and with others as if working for oneself. And, moreover, expressing one’s convictions can advance a spiritual quest. Friday January 30 Early this morning the impatient Gemini Moon went void of course for the rest of the day. Without some attentive grounding and centering, there’s a high likelihood of scattering one’s energies throughout the day. Invaluable information is available intuitively. At 3:57 pm, MT, the Moon enters her gibbous phase. Clear awareness of what can be gained socially can come into our consciousness if we stay focused on the priority of observing how we participate in the advancement of our shared conditions. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. Weekend January 31 and February 1 The Moon is in growth-conscious Cancer, and we might be questioning the direction of our lives. There are urges to break off old relationships which distract attention from exploring new experiences. The Cancer in us wants to become whole and complete in our own individual way. To do that, adjustments are required. To know which ones, it’s important to go with one’s gut feelings. Sunday at 6:37 am, MT, the Moon goes void of course until Monday morning. Sensitivities are amplified. There are strong feelings to resolve issues relating to old attachments in order to assure more pleasing future social engagements. Ideal images of that might flow through our minds.
