Last Quarter and Balsamic Moon

Monday February 9 The Libra Moon is void of course all day. While she is wiping off the critical appraisal of Libra, we may become vulnerable to seemingly pleasant conditions and well-mannered, perhaps even well-heeled, people. We can be easily duped by appearances. Anything sweet, attractive, and promising can hook us. It’s best to hold off on making major decisions or commitments until the Moon moves into Scorpio tomorrow when instincts will be better at detecting what’s rotten. There’s also the possibility that the Libra in us can be reserved and compliant, placating others, even unrealistically. It’s best to withdraw into one’s usual ritual of niceties without over-extending involvement. Tuesday February 10 The Moon moved into the deep emotional challenges of Scorpio early this morning. We can tightly control any tumult in the part of our lives corresponding to Scorpio. And at this phase of the lunation we can be scrupulous at acknowledging what we have learned about how we provide guidance for some kind of improvement at a social level. For a deeper understanding of this, we can privately plunge into our personal desires over the past three weeks, looking for and examining possible illusions. We can see our shortcomings by building associations with the images of current experiences, especially those in which we have invested a lot of time and energy. Wednesday February 11 This soul-engaging Scorpio Moon day begins with Mercury going direct at 7:57 am, MT, restoring the usual flow of communication, transportation, and commerce. There are urges to share feelings which have been fermenting and to infuse one’s creative ventures with plenty of attention. We can candidly enlist the support of others for our projects. At 8:50 pm, the Moon enters her last quarter phase when we need to assume responsibility for any unwelcomed truth learned recently regarding our behavior. New awareness can lead to wiser interpretations of life’s experiences. Thursday February 12 The Scorpio Moon is void of course this morning, washing off the unpleasant insights of Scorpio. During this time we might feel at the mercy of intense feelings, and, like a pressure cooker, may need to find a private place to let off steam. At 9:46 am, MT, the Moon enters the inner sanctum world of Sagittarius. This part of us can transcend the mundane world. Sagittarius creates an inner space where freedom reigns, where we can be self-sufficient. Therein, today, we can see the larger forces at work in our peer relationships. An internal dialogue can provide solitary insights which can ease us into a spiritual re-awakening. Friday February 13 With this Sagittarius Moon new possibilities enter our minds regarding some undeniable truths about cutting edge technology and its impact on social conditions. Hopes and off-the-cuff inspirations call for celebrations. The fun-loving side of Sagittarius is seen and felt. Sagittarius can open up new horizons to be generously shared. It’s a day for mutually sharing good news and good fortune. It’s a time for self-renewal based on an inner awareness of who one is becoming, which can lead to a lasting happiness. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. Weekend February 14 and 15 The Sagittarius Moon went void of course early this morning. While she is smothering the optimism of Sagittarius, we may want to find a haven wherein we can sustain our good feelings. At 3:24 pm, MT, the Moon moves into the strong, principled world of Capricorn, where we can stand on the ground of our beliefs and touch others heart to heart. On Sunday at 11:16 am, MT, the Moon enters her balsamic phase, when we can gather all the examples of how we consciously select to live socially and put them together to begin to imagine novel ways of interacting in new contexts.
