Last Quarter and Balsamic Moon

Monday June 8 With this Pisces Moon we can become aware of some deeper emotional and collective factors in a situation, which can push us to remain true to what we believe our role in a social group is. There’s encouragement to try something different while preserving wisdom. With Pisces it’s often easy to see the whole picture, but filling in the details will take some focus. Pisces is like the ocean, but not all wave caps are exactly the same, and not all waves deliver treasures from the sea. So too our social contributions might seem exactly like other people’s, but there are nuances, hidden things which make for differences, sometimes big differences. Tuesday June 9 The Pisces Moon enters her last quarter phase at 9:42 am, MT. Over the next few days the personal value and meaning of this lunation can become clear, and such an awareness requires a change in attitude. What we contribute socially is, or should be, related to the overall quality of one’s mission in life. It’s the BIG WHY we do what we do, often represented by the essential energy or spirit of our cultural realities. The Moon goes void of course at 12:08 pm, until tomorrow morning. This is an ultra Pisces period when boundaries thin and people can get easily emotionally hurt. One can be pulled in all directions, becoming confused and muddled. Yet imagination is more fluid and generous! Wednesday June 10 With this Aries Moon a new awareness can emerge out of the past. This is part of the process of change, involving an exchange of viewpoints with former thoughts slipping away over the edge of eroding practices. New ideas fly into one’s head, setting off an earnest pursuit of essential truths. Brains are stimulated by quick flashes of electrifying ways to reform a work habit. Shifting conditions are like threads bringing things together. Aries is adept at opening up untried possibilities, but can aim at an unattainable ideal. Aries has a thirst to experience everything in a somewhat hurried manner with little time to hold onto the memories of past experiences, leaving the impression that much has not been learned. Thursday June 11 This Aries Moon calls for a re-orientation of the mind when it comes to fulfilling social obligations. We are drawn into a larger field of participation than typical for us. Without presence of mind, we may feel unstable, especially when surprised. The Aries in us, however, can have unusual powers of concentration. These can help us push through any unsettling or opposing forces. Aries can boldly explore uncharted fields. There are unbounded possibilities. Pursuing some of them can shift the flow of the day in radical ways. At 4:33 pm, MT, Mercury goes direct, raising consciousness about new perspectives. At 5:43 pm, the Moon begins to throw off the energetic sparks of Aries for over fourteen hours of weakening activity. Friday June 12 With this void of course Aries Moon, the morning begins with a slow pace. At 8:16 am, MT, the Moon moves into relentless Taurus. It’s important for us today to take the initiative in expressing how we value our social connections, especially cross-cultural ones. At 7:50 pm, MT, the Moon enters her balsamic phase, when we need to draw from our deep inner emotional resources to stir up images of the forms and cycles which inspire our lives. It’s time to get into a visionary frame of mind to conjure up future capabilities. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. Weekend June 13 and 14 The Taurus Moon this Saturday is accompanied by huge impulses to demonstrate one’s appreciation for all the beauty surrounding us, the breathtaking splendor of nature and the colorful displays of humans! The interplays in this panorama offer much nourishment! The Taurus moon goes void of course at 4:06 pm, MT, until late Sunday morning. We can be easily influenced during this time. Vitality is high on Sunday! At 11:51 am, the Moon moves into agile Gemini, offering us a measurement of our flexibility in our environment as well as with close colleagues. In conversations, passions overshadow rationality.
