First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

Monday September 21 The Sagittarius Moon entered her first quarter phase during the night. This is when a sense of urgency moves us to actively change. At this time the whole picture of how we connect with colleagues as a team is coming together and indicating what is strong and needs to be maintained and what part of the social order is collapsing and needs to be cut loose. At 6:33 am, MT, the Moon moves into the strong principles of Capricorn, urging us to leave behind old, no longer reliable elements of relating to others, and to take on more responsible and idealistic ways. Social structures can evolve consciously or unconsciously. Having an ideal vision of one can quicken the process. Tuesday September 22 This Competent Capricorn Moon knows how to use resources to effectively achieve goals. But this morning extra attention must be applied to take care of the hidden psychological patterns which limit one’s ability to self-nurture. Surprisingly we can cultivate exactly what our souls need to harmonize feelings with the outer reality, especially if we socialize warmly with those in our metaphorical choir. Groups, in which the level of trust is high, can foster trust through being in sync and reinforcing dialogues. The Moon goes void of course at 5:13 pm, MT, shoveling off the weighty concerns of Capricorn until tomorrow morning. During this time, it’s helpful to find concrete ways of dealing with emotions. Wednesday September 23 At 2:21 am, MT, the Sun moved into Libra—may we all have a peaceful autumn! Most of this morning the Moon is void of course, plowing off any feelings of being boxed in. At 11:51 am, the Moon moves into politicking Aquarius, providing guidance for the changing conditions in a social scene. There are many concerns about doing the right thing, and openness to spiritual illumination on this can help. Remember such insights can come from the behavior and advice of just about anyone, known or unknown, who expresses an aspect of beauty and grace. Having these kinds of contacts can help one get a more complete grasp of a problematic dynamic. Thursday September 24 This Aquarius Moon can take us to another level of interaction with a group. If there has been an impasse in communications lately, we can get access to the realities for all sides involved and establish a pleasing compromise. The same is true for inner conflicts. We may be extremely obsessed with information which brings up crazy notions. It can be beneficial to re-center oneself spiritually, aligning with universal principles, like “do for others what you would like done for you.” The Moon enters her gibbous phase at 3:40 pm, MT. Revelations of the heart can move us forward to self-realizations. There’s momentum for personal power tonight as Mars enters the sign of utilizing skills, Virgo, and self-challenging Pluto stands still, changing from retrograde to direct motion. Friday September 25 The Aquarius Moon is void of course, blasting off old ways, eager to leave them behind. At 1:44 pm, MT, the Moon moves into the malleable feelings of Pisces. This part of us might have to face antagonism this afternoon, or at least some provocation. A new vitality is emerging. We can use it for new adventures. Instead of being intimidated, we can be ruthlessly productive and use our own power and discretion to find ways to be cooperative and agreeable in human relationships, maintaining pleasant participation in the commons. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. Weekend September 26 and 27 The Pisces Moon went void of course at 10:32 am, MT, for almost twenty-seven hours of rinsing off the idealistic dream world of Pisces. Sensitivity and vulnerability are rampant this Saturday, and Sunday morning. The Pisces part of us can be made to easily feel mal-content, and we may over-react to everything, good or bad. At 1:29 pm, MT, Sunday, the Moon moves into over- ambitious Aries. We may have strong feelings for respect and recognition Sunday afternoon. At 8:50 pm, the Moon is at her fullest, but eclipsed by the earth’s shadow. The darkened Moon can represent how we repress our ability to transcend group issues or how we block inspirations to meet one’s standards.
