Last Quarter and Balsamic Moon

Monday November 2 The Moon is voiding herself of a whirlpool of Cancer’s speculative intuition this morning, leaving us in a foggy state until 8:48 am, MT, when she moves into the show off skills of Leo. There’s a burst of energy to perform a social function of calling together a group. Feelings need to adjust to rationality. Instincts will then become prominent and useful, as some Leo part of you can no longer rely on old perspectives of how to deal with people’s rough edges. Getting past a conventional way of relating is important not only in this Moon cycle but also in the cycle of Venus and Mars at this time. At 6:10 pm, those planets come together for the third time this year, marking the beginning of a new way of engaging with others. Tuesday November 3 At 5:24 am, MT, the Leo Moon enters her last quarter phase when we can recognize some habit that is no longer needed and know that it is time to commit to exercising a replacement behavior having to do with a fun-loving, high standard of engagement with others that serves the greater good. The Leo part of us can give expression to this by taking creative risks in a step by step fashion. This may require leadership, but only if it’s honored. Open-heartedness and sharing are needed in extraordinary ways. The Moon goes void of course at 6:46 pm, for almost twenty-five hours of putting out Leo’s exuberance. Keep expectations on the back burner, and prepare for strangeness! Wednesday November 4 The Leo Moon is void of course until this evening. There is no major connection to the planets while she is emptying herself of the magnetic charm of Leo. During this time we can be receptive to all sorts of things. Boundaries are penetrable. We may think we know what’s best for everyone, yet we can be defenseless towards what we would typically avoid. Visions of ideal, and even fun, conditions float through the ethers, entertaining us. We can be proud of our dreams for the future while reworking the present reality in our minds. At 7:22 pm, MT, the Moon leaves Leo and moves into orderly Virgo. Thursday November 5 The self-disciplined Virgo Moon brings a repetitive quality to the fulfillment of today’s tasks along with promises of satisfaction. Socially learned factors come to play for the best results in group projects. The ongoing drama of human relationships with their complex networking features deep undercurrents of well rooted practices. They can help work out problems and loosen things up culturally so that things can be put in order. This can be very satisfying to the Virgo part of us, which would prefer not having to live certain arrangements over and over again. Virgo sometimes strives to be a perfectionist. Having to repeat something can be discouraging. Friday November 6 With this Virgo Moon we can be open to all sorts of influences. Some of them may keep us redoing things; others suggest we give up, but that may be immature. Our minds can be overwhelmed by all sorts of suggestions. We can be immobilized by vague communications. It’s important to get directly to the crux of what is important. It helps to make desires known while evaluating priorities. Virgo can be guarded and keep matters private, not wanting to impose on others nor have them intrude. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. Weekend November 7 and 8 The void of course Virgo Moon entered her balsamic phase at 7:58 am, MT. Visions of a new path to follow encourage planting seeds for the future during this stage of the lunation. At 8:14 am, the Moon moved into the high expectations of Libra. This Saturday an authority figure may show up with some wise advice about how to act on impulses. On Sunday morning care is needed not to underestimate traditional habits of creating a pleasant day of rest. Things can get erratic in the afternoon based on some social antics. Emotional reactions are an indicator of how tolerant we are when the unexpected shows up. The Moon goes void of course at 7:42 pm,
